Riding The Waves Of Your Life

In life, sometimes we will face challenges. It can be as simple as a rainy day or as severe as a death in the family. What can help you to handle these situations is that you WILL overcome them. Human beings are born with an intense strength to overcome almost anything. Your body and mind have and will continue to face struggles. If you look at any situation there is a way to see the positive and to gain from your pain. An example is the loss of my mother's best friend Helen. She had just turned fifty, exercised every day and took great care of herself. She got into a car accident and had blacked out. This was very surprising because she was an excellent driver. Two weeks later the same thing happened. At the hospital, they did a scan and found she had a large brain tumor. Helen was given several months to live. All of us were sad and filled with pain. Helen was not. She decided to embrace death and make peace with it. She spent nearly every one of her last days feeling happy, content and in a great mood. Her energy and love made all of us change our perspectives on dying. Helen said she had a wonderful full life and feels blessed for the great experiences she has had. Even with the loss of Helen, my mom, her friends, family, and myself all took a deeper look at our own thoughts about death. We would go to Helen's and laugh, smile, and have an amazing time. When she died I knew she would continue to live on in our hearts, memories and soul. I now no longer fear death and try to enjoy each day even when it is a rainstorm like today.

Walking Strengthens The Body, Mind And Friendships!

I just came back from a three mile walk with my wife and mother. Walking is great way to build more than just stamina. If you walk with a friend or family member this is an amazing way to connect with both nature and each other. You can discuss exciting new updates in each other's lives, plan future events, and help each other overcome problems. While walking your mind and body begins to work harder and smarter. It uses additional energy and revs up your body's engine (the heart). Often, new ideas and solutions to problems can emerge while burning calories, enjoying fresh air and even losing excess weight. If you are feeling tired or unhappy a walk is a great way to begin to break whatever negative patterns you are in. It sometimes comes out during this time that this is something truly bothering you. It could be a problem with a co worker, partner, family member, or anxiety and depression. You can determine that the time is right to seek out help. This is the exact reason we started Emergency Therapy. We feel that whenever you are ready to overcome your issues we will be here ready and waiting to help. You can call (877) Blake-50 24 hours a day or go to www.emergencytherapy.com to speak with our licensed social workers and psychologists. We even ran into our own therapist on today's walk so we know first hand how important it is to overcome our challenges. Everyone has them but we need to make sure we face them and make positive progress with our lives. Here's a great place to hike as seen in the picture above: http://www.exploreminnesota.com/

Celebrapy-The Addiction To Fame

Celebrities have become a huge part of our culture. Many people spend a huge amount of their time studying, analyzing, and dissecting the every move of famous people. Ask any child whether they have heard of Paris Hilton or George Washington and the heiress is more known than our first President. Why do people care so much about people who often have train wreck lives? My take is that people become addicted to the famous and I call this celebrapy. The addiction makes you need to know about your favorite star so you end up feeling you are their friend. In fact, many people know more details about actors and music stars than they do their own mothers or fathers. It is sad to see so many becoming addicted to gossip magazines and even the mainstream news outlets feel they must cover stars in order to have viewers and readers. The question is how can one break an unhealthy interest in the famous? The answer is you must remove them from your life. It is similar to alcohol. If you are addicted you must take it out of your home and try not to go to places including bars and clubs. For people who spend too much time focusing on the famous, and if it has become an obsession you should work to stop it. The time and energy used to think about celebrities can be used to improve your life, find more happiness, build a business, or create something positive for the world. The therapists at www.emergencytherapy.com have experience counseling people with an addiction to fame. We hope whether you are addicted to celebrities or anything else that you take the time to find help. We offer counseling and therapy 24 hours a day at (877) Blake-50 and through www.emergencytherapy.com

Music Therapy in Addition To Traditional Counseling

Music is a way to express emotions that people face. It is quite widely known that music artists use the creation of songs as a way to let out what they are thinking about. Some of the common themes include love, loss, excitement, and the sharing of experiences. Songs can be a way to open ourselves up to what we are feeling. Often people report that when they hear a certain song it triggers an emotion for them. For example, a song about losing a relationship is often appreciated by someone experiencing a break up. We have done research into hip hop music helping children in the inner city to overcome the challenges they have faced. Our work titled Rap Therapy is a documentary film. Within the project we focused on working with kids in foster care and helping them to use music to open up about difficult emotions. Some of the items the children were able to open up about include being abused, losing parents to drugs, being removed from their homes and the gangs in their neighborhoods. In addition, 50 Cent, Diddy, Ludacris, Ja Rule, Russell Simmons and other hip hop celebrities discussed their thoughts about music helping children. You can learn more about the project at www.raptherapy.com. In our counseling and therapy at www.emergencytherapy.com we feel music therapy can be a great addition to treatment. Often while obtaining counseling and therapy we encourage people to write songs, poems, keep a diary and express themselves. In addition, sometimes we ask people to find songs that describe their current emotional state and we discuss them. If you are looking to have therapy www.emergencytherapy.com provides 24 hour a day telephone and email therapy. Please take a look at this as a way to help yourself overcome your challenges.

www.EmergencyTherapy.com Launches Online Blog!

Therapy and counseling are extremely important. In recent years, their have been a great increase in people using licensed social workers and psychologists for talk counseling. There has also been an increase in life coaching and other type fields. The reason www.emergencytherapy.com only has licensed social workers and psychologists providing counseling is extremely important. In the past, almost anyone could hang up a sign and say they were a "therapist." Recent laws have changed this and many states are making clear distinctions about who is able to provide counseling. A licensed social worker must attend four years of undergraduate college and then a minimum of two years in a Masters Level program from an accredited college. While in their social work schooling they are typically placed in two full year internships at facilities including clinics, hospitals, and rehab settings. While in these places, they often provide counseling under the supervision of experienced, trained, and licensed professionals. They each week meet with their supervisors to go over cases and make sure they are working in the correct way. It is often the combined experiences of being an intern and a student that allows someone to become a competent social worker. A Psychologist often goes to school for an even greater amount of time and has placements where they obtain hands on experience. Our therapy team at www.emergencytherapy.com includes only licensed social workers and psychologists. We feel they are properly trained to handle the serious situations people face. While we do believe life coaching has value, there is no state licensing for this profession yet. That means, anyone can say they are a life coach. Here in New York, licensed social workers and psychologists are able to provide counseling. Their are a few other allied fields also able to but each must have the schooling and training that makes them able to handle the severity of peoples problems. Since our own training becoming a licensed social worker we have worked with people with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, people who are suicidal, addicted to cocaine, heroin, alcohol, sex, marijuana, children who have been abused, families in foster care, homeless individuals and even homicidal people. It is our wide range of experiences which most licensed professionals have had to face which make us believe we are ready and able to provide help to you. If you are looking for therapy www.emergencytherapy.com is a great place to find counseling and online therapists. We also provide therapy over the telephone through (877) Blake-50. Our prices are very affordable and we would love to help you today. Have a great day and thank you for reading our blog.
